Improve Filmaster: add films, edit cast!
1.0.12 is the magic number behind the latest release of Filmaster.com. As every month we brought you guys some new features, bugfixes and a lot of new bugs to cope with. Here are the highlights!
Add new films manually!
You’ve asked for it for a while so here you are: now you can not only ask for films to be imported from IMDB.com but also add them manually by enterin the film name, release year, director and actors. This feature should be used only in case the film is not listed on IMDB!

Adding new film
If you are lucky to be an editor of Filmaster.com, the films you add are automatically placed into Filmaster film database. If not, worry not as the editors should accept your entries shortly using the shiny new moderators panel (which also allows to manage suggested films, posters and photos).
Editing film cast!
Another new feature is only meant for the editors for now but if it proves successful and handy, we may also expose it to regular Filmaster users. It allows to edit film cast, i.e. actors and their roles.

Editing film cast
It should be used in case the current info is out of date or errorous.
Minor fixes
And here are some of the most irritating minor things that we fixed this release:
- lots of updates to the search feature including searching using the original diacritics and national symbols,
- short reviews are now always visible in full on Planet Filmaster and your blogs (they used to be cut in half at times),
- new RSS channel for the activities of users you follow.
- Twitter integration – we’ll cover it in details when there’s something to write about. for now you can only sign in using your Twitter account. The next step is automatic updates, auto-follwoing Twitter friends on Filmaster and more.
What’s next?
We have recently started beta-testing of Filmaster Mobile for iPhone. We’re also in the process of polishing the Android application which should be out for testing in March. We’re also in the process of completely redesigning the website with usability in mind. This should be released to public in March as well. Lots of things are happening as you can see and we’ll try to be more informative in our future blog posts so that you can stay up to date with those happenings!
For now, let us know what you think of the new features and report any bugs if you spot them either here or via Facebook / Twitter.
